I.I.K.A. 2022 Award Requirements

IN ORDER TO BE NOMINATED FOR AN AWARD THE NOMINEE OR DOJO MUST BE A 2021 / 2022 ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE I.I.K.A.

I.I.K.A. Spirit Award

This person has exhibited traits of a higher calling in their Martial Arts career as well as in their Personal Life. These traits are Honor, Respect of Others, Servitude, Passion For Life and an Indomitable Spirit. This person is concerned about the furtherance of our art and improvement to the lives that are touched by their presence.

Ladies of Isshin-ryu Award

This person has freely given of themselves, their time and resources to advance and strengthen Isshin-ryu through the sisterhood of the Isshin-ryu family.

Female Competitor of the Year

This person has shown all the qualities of a Mature Martial Artist in the presentation of their skill in Kata and Kumite during the calendar year. This person has competed in the annual I.I.K.A. events and has represented the organization with respect and honor.

Male Competitor of the Year

This person has shown all the qualities of a Mature Martial Artist in the presentation of their skill in Kata and Kumite during the calendar year. This person has competed in the annual I.I.K.A. events and has represented the organization with respect and honor.

Outstanding I.I.K.A. Karate-ka    

This person has shown an unmatched attitude in the dojo and goes above and beyond what is expected of a model student. Has made unselfish contributions to their community.  Excels in school or in the workplace and is an overall positive contribution to our society.

Outstanding Male I.I.K.A. Karate-ka Adult 

This person has shown an unmatched attitude in the dojo and goes above and beyond what is expected of a model student. Has made unselfish contributions to their community.  Excels in school or in the workplace and is an overall positive contribution to our society.

Outstanding Female I.I.K.A. Karate-ka Adult 

This person has shown an unmatched attitude in the dojo and goes above and beyond what is expected of a model student. Has made unselfish contributions to their community.  Excels in school or in the workplace and is an overall positive contribution to our society.

Outstanding I.I.K.A. Dojo

This dojo shows extraordinary team spirit, leadership throughout the ranks, winning attitude in the Dojo and Events. Makes contributions to their community and has a positive effect on the I.I.K.A. association and its members.

Female Instructor Of The Year

This person has shown extraordinary dedication to teaching the art of Isshinryu Karate. This Instructor is a positive role model to the students and continually strives to improve the lives of the students through unselfishly giving of themselves and the skills they possess in Isshinryu Karate.

Male Instructor Of The Year

This person has shown extraordinary dedication to teaching the art of Isshinryu Karate. This Instructor is a positive role model to the students and continually strives to improve the lives of the students through unselfishly giving of themselves and the skills they possess in Isshinryu Karate.

Sensei's Award of Excellence       (i.e. Cleveland Dojo, Tullahoma Dojo, Athens Dojo Etc..)

The Dojo Head Sensei can recognize (1) Person from their dojo that deserves special recognition for their outstanding contributing role or special actions within that dojo.

Outstanding I.I.K.A. Contribution Award

Person and/or Group that has made unselfish efforts during the year to help, organize, further a cause within the group, or promote any activity that would enhance Isshin-ryu Karate and the IIKA organization

Lifetime Achievement Award

This person has committed his/her life (30 yrs or more) to the furtherance of Isshin-ryu Karate.  During these years their presence has been felt through their dojo, by representing the I.I.K.A. in the Martial Arts world, through devoting time to enhance understanding of our art and by modeling the character traits of a true martial artists. This individual has made a positive impact on the lives of those who has been associated with this person

 I.I.K.A. Legacy Circle of Honor

This person has exhibited the traits of a true Karate-Ka in their participation within the I.I.K.A. and at their Home Dojo. This person has made honorable contributions to the world of Isshin-ryu Karate by exemplifying the highest traits of character and will forever be remembered for those unselfish contributions by being "Inducted into I.I.K.A. Legacy The Circle Of Honor"
